    Thanks kid,
    Great video!
In the immortal words of the kid's game "MARKO.....POLO...", you're getting warm....

With all due respect to Mr. Player, he AGAIN defers to his HEAD?
What I believe he's trying to transmit is where his EYES are focusing?
You can move your eyes WITHOUT (visually) moving your HEAD?

I believe it is where your EYES remain focused...
Ask your high-school Geometry teacher about the INTERSECTION of a SPHERE (golf ball) and a linear-PLANE (putter-face)...
He/she will tell you that it is a SINGULAR point in space...
THAT is the point upon which we need to focus our visual attention.

    Thanks man...

      Hi guys,
Hi Cally, Thanks for chiming in again!

Drill's OK as drills go? I think the club-head of the club on the ground diverts the line (as the host commented?); kind of defeating the exercise?
It DID, however cause me to reconsider the QUESTION? (see "geometry" reference above)
This may turn out to be merely a matter of "semantics", but I'm not so sure....

What would happen if, rather than worrying about keeping the club-face SQUARE, we focused on striking the PRECISE POINT directly on the REAR of the ball?
After all, my high-school Geometry teacher (Mr. Chet Hanewich) would advise that you would be UNABLE to strike that precise rear point-of-contact UNLESS your putter-face was SQUARE to your direction line? Geometrically speaking, there is ONLY ONE point of contact on the ball for each face-angle presented?

Is it possible we've all been trying to do the wrong thing?

Focus on making contact with that precise point-of-contact on the direct rear of the ball and let your millions of years of human evolution guide you to the face-angle solution?

Said another way, STOP trying to control the putter face and just LET it happen?

Call me crazy, but this is beginning to feel like familiar territory for MY particular brand of lunacy...

So does focusing solely on the ball contact point invalidate the center of the putter face or still lend the golfer the ability to create the feel at impact that they like? I.e. some are more toe or heel strikers.

Gee, I don't know? Are "toe or heel strikers" toe or heel strikers because they CHOOSE to strike the ball on the toe or heel OR are they toe or heel strikers because that pattern is what has EMERGED from their past performance?

I think, given their preferences, that MOST players would prefer to think that they INTEND to strike the ball in the CENTER of the putter-face.

I fail to see why that is germane to upon what point on the ball we are gazing?

Not on the line I'm talking, but to your point, I wrote this TEN years ago during a time in my career in which I was SELLING golf equipment (including putters)

For both amateur and professional golfers, physical health is essential. Being healthy can increase your swing power, offer better control, and reduce tiredness in addition to lowering your risk of injury.
